About Friendship Festival /
Here you can find detailed information about what FSA's Friendship Festival is and what do we do in here.
General Explanation /
Friendship Festival is the first event of the year which is held at the beginning of the Spring semester. During this time, many new international students are still adjusting to their new life in Japan. We created this event with the goal to give a chance for new students to develop new and life-long friendships with other students from Japan and all over the world. This is also a great chance to make golden memories to start off their new life here in Soka University!
Since it is the first event of the year, the participants are first given the chance to introduce themselves by having a short dialogue session usually held in Japanese and English. Because students at the start of the year are still learning and adjusting to the foreign language, the FSA members and/or seniors support by translating into Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese, helping us transcend the language barrier and truly connect with each other.
Afterwards in order to create an exciting atmosphere, we head on to the main activity that consists of the games! The students are divided into small groups and together, they will be playing the different exciting games prepared. The activities are done so that the students can get to know each other even more in a fun and interactive way. Lastly, we end the event by introducing and singing together the International Students Song that will truly deepen our new friendships. By this event, we can start-off the school year in high spirits and a lot of energy from our new-found friends!
Tentative Schedule /
