(July 2/2) Introduction of graduate school student

Minju: Good morning, Leexin. Thank you so much for joining this interview!

Leexin: Your welcome!

Minju: It's already the final exam period. How have you been lately?

Leexin: Actually, I was really busy last month. Because I had to submit my presentations' research papers. Now it is all over!

Minju: Oh, then you're free right now! That's so great!

Leexin: Yes!! But I still have one final research paper left until the end of this month.

Minju: Yes, but you still have plenty of time!!

Leexin: That's right! Other classes have already released the final report, except for part-time jobs and final research paper!

Minju: Oh, so everything else is fine, isn't it?

Leexin: Yes, as I said, I was really busy in June, during that time, and I was really tired and got sick. But I took a good rest and now I'm fine!

Minju: Oh.. It's hard to do both the part-time job and have classes at the same time. I'm glad you got better now! Take care of yourself :(

Leexin: Thank you!

Minju: Okay, then I would like to start the interview. Are you ready?

Leexin: yeah I'm ready!!

Minju: First of all, what was the most impressive thing at Soka University or how was your life as a SUJ foreign student?

Leexin: Actually, I used to work in Malaysia before I came to Soka University, at that time, my life was really carefree since I didn't have to worry about money, but now I need to have a part-time job!

Minju: It certainly needs enough money to study abroad.

Leexin: Actually, I couldn't come to Japan for a year and a half until last year, so it didn't take much money. Also, lifestyle gets completely different. In Malaysia, we normally drive, but in Japan, we often use bicycles and buses.

Minju: Oh, I see. Don't you usually take buses in Malaysia?

Leexin: Yes! So it was a little hard to walk at first, but now I got used to it. Now I can even walk for 30 minutes straight. (Lol)

Minju: You're used to it now. (Lol)

Leexin: Yes, I thought this is Japanese life and it was really fun because it was my first time studying abroad!!

Minju: Malaysia and Japan have different cultures, right??

Leexin: Yes, so I felt my own growth while studying in Japan!

Minju: Wow, that's great!! I've always seen you having conversation with other foreign students and Japanese students in the seventh floor of Global Square, please tell me about that!

Leexin: Actually, there is an interesting place! My goal is talk a lot with students from various countries at Soka University!!

Minju: Oh, you already progressing towards that goal!

Leexin: Yes, I am doing it every day!!(Lol)

Minju: That's really nice. Let's talk with me a lot too!!

Leexin: Of course!!

Minju: Great!! Let's move on to the second question. I heard you will return to Malaysia in September, but what was the thing you always wanted to do at the university, but you couldn't?

Leexin: As I said, the most important thing I wanted to do at the university was to communicate with student from other countries, but I'm happy that I've achieved it ◡̎

After graduation, I want to go back to work and make use of this experience to understand the characteristics of various people from different countries! To understand their way of thinking and how they do business!!

Minju: Wow, it's awesome!!

Leexin: That's why I came to study abroad at Soka University! So by making friendships with many friends, I have already achieved my goals.

Minju: Wow, it's really wonderful!!

Leexin: I would like to last these friendships forever. That's all I want after graduation.

Minju: I think so too, friendship is really important!

Leexin: As Ikeda Sensei said, To believe in friendship is very important.

Minju: Well, so please stay in touch with me too !!

Leexin: Of course!!

Minju: This is the last question! How was your life in Japan?

Leexin: Well, to be honest, it was a bit painful at first. But it was great to make friends later and learn about Japanese culture by going to various places!

Actually, I had been to Japan before coming to Soka University. At that time I was able to experience the culture that I couldn't before.

Minju: Surely, you can find things that you can’'t normally see if you go sightseeing!

Leexin: Yes, Japanese life is really interesting lol.

Minju: That's right. lol

This is the last question! What are your plans for the future?

Leexin: I want to work after graduation. I worked for a pharmaceutical company before. Now I would like to go back and do other work like management. My current research is related to this!

The Aging population is a problem in the world, but the policies aren’t good I think.

So when patients take medicine for these problems, they look for a more economically efficient way.

Minju: Yeah, that's amazing...!! I bet you nailed it! Last but not least, what do you really want to do at Soka university before you go back to Malaysia?

Leexin: Well... Actually, I want to enter the Soka University building that I couldn't enter until now! I want to see more beautiful scenery!!

Minju: The scenery of Soka University is really wonderful! Before you go back, please go to various places in Soka!

Today's interview is over! Thank you so so much ◡̎

Leexin: Thank you very much!!
