【4月・April】新入生・在学生に届く卒業生からの伝言（Message from Graduates to new and current students）

　皆さん、最も期待されるつばさコンテンツをお待たせしました。まずは、新入生全員、入学おめでとう！そして、この3月に無事に卒業できた皆さんも、おめでとうございます！

　今月の記事により、卒業生の声を集め、4人の創価大学での経験を語られていただき、新入生・在学生の皆さんのためにお届けします。ですので、是非この読書の機会を飛ばさずに、最後まで読んで、元気を沸きましょう。

　Sorry for make you wait for a long time with Tsubasa post. But first of all, congratulations to all the new students on your entrance ceremony! And also all those who could graduate this last march!

　In the article of this moth, we collected some graduates' voices who are sharing their experiences in SUJ and which might be enormously helpful to every current student in Soka University. You cannot let this opportunity to read it pass away!

What did you learn in Soka University? (outside of class)

　私にとって創価大学で学んだ最も重要なことが、「自分は選んだ道を諦めずに歩む」と「感謝」の二つのことです。他の人から自分の努力と決意を理解しようがするまいが、元の決意を忘れずに、最後まで自分は選んだ道を歩める人が必ず人材として成長し、社会に貢献できる人になると強く確信しています。二つ目は、応援してくださった人々への感謝を決して忘れてはいけません。さらに、一人一人への感謝を胸に、恩返しの道を歩むことはすごく大事と思っています。我がままの生き方をし、周りの人がやってくれていることは当たり前と考えてしまう人が、どんなに社会から認めれていても、我慢となり、周りの人の信頼を失ってし、一番不幸の人生をいきてしまうと確信しています。

　The most important lessons I have learnt in Soka University are the importance of pursuing with determination our chosen path and of gratitude. I came to the conclusion that, no matter whether the others understand and recognize our efforts or not, those who walk on the path they have chosen living true to their original determination will definitely grow as capable individuals able to make a difference in society. The second is to never forget the gratitude to those who have supported us and, most important, live to repay that gratitude. I believe that a person that lives only thinking to him or herself, taking for granted what the others have done for us, no matter how much recognition will receive, at one point will fall into arrogance and lose the trust of the people around, leading to a miserable and empty way of living.

What is your best memory in Soka University?

　有意義な思い出がありすぎて選べられないですね(笑)！

でも、選択しなければならないのなら、２０１８年の創大祭について話したいと思います。

２０１８年は自分の修士課程の最後の年であり、一生懸命努力をしたにも関わらず、研究の成果がなかなか出ませんでした。来る日も来る日も、『もうだめだ！本当に研究者になれるか？』と自分に問い、自分の不安との戦いでした。それでも、勉学と研究に励みながら、自分は人間として成長しようという思い出、色んな活動に挑戦しました。その中、創大祭でキフェスと夕食体の一人として取り組んでいました。創価大学の期間は限られていることを自覚し、目の前の一つ一つの課題に全力で挑戦しました。そして、２０１８年１０月１３日に、尊い友達と共に創立者と出会ったことが一生涯忘れらに思い出です。

　Wow, there are so many meaningful memories that it is really difficult to pick the best one! But if I have to choose, I will go for the Soka University festival of 2018.

It was my last year of my Master Course and, despite my most sincere and earnest efforts, I could not see any results in my research. It was a daily struggle with my sense of inadequacy, and I was constantly questioning whether I was really suited to be a researcher in my life. Nevertheless, while putting all my efforts in my studies and research I was also challenging in my personal growth as a human being through various activities. Among them, the Soka University festival as KIFES and Yushokutai member. I poured all myself in every task I had in front of me being aware that our time in Soka University is limited. I will never forget how deeply moved I was when, together with my most precious friends, we were able to meet the Founder on October 13th, 2018.

　ある時に深く場違いに感じ、ある時に誰も理解してくれないと感じ、そして、ある時に自分自身を認められないこともあるかもしれません。少なくとも僕はそれら全て(さらにそれ以上)を経験しました！僕の個人的な経験から皆さんと共有したいのは『大丈夫だよ！心配しないで！あなたには何の問題もない！自分に諦めないで！時には涙を流し、時には生きていること自体の深い歓喜を感じながら、自分の力を尽くし、挑戦してください。最後に、全ての努力は望むよりもさらに大きな形で必ず戻ってきます。一時的な失敗に落ち込まないでください！』とのことです。

創価大学の期間は皆さんの最高の経験になるように、心の底から祈っています。

　There will be times you will feel deeply out of place, times you will feel that no one understands you, and even times you will not even recognize yourself, at least I have been through all of them (and many more)! What I would like to share from my personal experience is: do not worry! There is nothing wrong with you! Don’t give up on yourself! Keep trying your very best, sometimes shedding tears, sometimes feeling an intense joy for just being alive, in the very end every single effort you have made will come back to you in a form even greater than what you have desired. Please do not be discouraged by the momentary failures!

Wish you all to have a life transforming and the most meaningful experience while studying at Soka University.

　沢山あるのですが、、(笑)何より宝の宝である「真の友情」であると思います。

　自分がどこにいようが、どのような形であろうが、常に信頼し、励ましてくれる「友達」が創価大学にはいます。母国を離れてきた私もたまに寄る辺がないことが寂しいと思いましたが、それを忘れさせてくれたのも「友達」という存在のおかげでした。国籍、文化、言語等、共通点が少なくとも一人の人間対人間でお互いを信じていく中で私は「真の友情」を深く学ばせて頂きました。創価大学で過ごした5年、出会えたすべての皆さま一人ひとりが私の一生忘れられない思い出、かけがえのない宝です。みんな、大好きです！♥

　There are many, but above all, I think it is a "true friendship" is the treasure of treasures.

　No matter where you are or what you look like, in Soka University there are "friends" who always trust and encourage you. When I left my home country, I felt lonely in a way that I didn't have a chance to stop by, but it was thanks to the existence of these "friends" that I forgot about it. I learned deeply about "true friendship" while believing in each other with at least one person such as nationality, culture and language. During the five years I spent at Soka University, each and every one of you I met is an irreplaceable treasure that I will never forget. I love you all!

創価大学での一番の思い出はなんですか？

What is your best memory in Soka University?

　それは、3年間の「寮生活」ですね。別科生の時、創春寮で住んでいた私は、当時の残寮生(RA)の皆さんがすごく優しくて、常に寮生のことを全力でサポートしてくれる姿に励まされ、自分も4年の間、絶対に残寮生になって後輩の皆に恩返ししたいと思いました。ところが、その年の結果は不合格、私は落ち込みました。しかし、色んな先輩と話す中で、自分が立てた信念を曲げたくないと思い、再び挑戦しました。その結果、ようやく合格させて頂きました。「寮」というところは私にとって居心地の良い、第二の家です。むしろ、血縁関係ではないからそこまで絆が強いかと言われるかもしれませんが、それ以上深い縁で結ばれた兄弟、姉妹と同じではないかと思います。ですので、寮で住んでいる皆さんにぜひ寮生活で沢山の思い出を作って頂ければと思います！ 　I can say that is the three years of "dormitory life." When I was in Bekka (Japanese Special Program), I lived in the Soshun Dormitory, and I was encouraged by the kindness of the Resident Assistants (RA) at that time, who always supported the dormitory students with all their might, and for the next four years I definitely wanted to become a dormitory student and return my debt of gratitude through all my juniors. However, the result of that year application was unsuccessful, and I felt depressed about it. However, while talking to various seniors, I didn't want to bend my beliefs, so I tried again.As a result, I finally passed. The "dormitory" was my second home in which i felt comfortable to be. Rather, it may be said that it is difficult to create such a strong bond because we are not related to each other, I think we all are as brothers and sisters who have a deep relationship. Therefore, I hope that everyone living in the dormitory will make many memories during that period of your lives!

- Don't hesitate to do what you want to do, at least, try it once!

　I learned the value of unity in friendship. Joy emerges when one friend encourages the other.

What is your best memory in Soka University?

　2018年に創価大祭の「栄光の集い」の舞台に足を踏み入れた時のことは、決して忘れません。

　I will never forget when I stepped on the stage of “The Glory Meeting” in 2018’s Soka University Festival.

What did you learn in Soka University? (outside of class)

創価大学での4年間でたくさんのことを学びました。短い段落に簡潔にするのは非常に難しいでしょう。FILAから、学問的な授業を通じて幅広い分野を学び、さまざまな視点から考える能力を養うことができました。そして、豊富な学問的知識の他に、ここで出会った世界中の人々との強い友情の絆を築くことによって世界平和を構築することの重要性も学びました。対話が不可欠であり、リーダーシップが重要な役どこまで割を果たすか学びました。ここでは、勉学方法を学ぶので、強力な基盤を創ることもできました。創価大学でたくさんのことを学ぶことができてとても感謝しています

　I learned a lot during my four years at Soka University. It would be very difficult to concise it to a short paragraph. From FILA courses, I learned many different fields through interdisciplinary classes that I could take, which allowed me to develop the ability to think from different perspectives. Other than the rich academic knowledge I had learned, most importantly, I learned the importance of building world peace by creating strong bonds of friendship with people all over the world that I have met here. I learned how it is essential to have dialogues and the crucial role leadership plays. I could also build a strong foundation because here, I learn how to learn. I am so grateful that I was able to learn so much at Soka University.

創価大学での一番の思い出はなんですか？

What is your best memory in Soka University?

　創価大学で作った金の思い出は1つだけではありません。それが私の研究であろうと非学術的活動であろうと、私が今まで作った貴重な思い出が数えられるほど、非常に多いです。特に、2年連続で創大祭の留喫役員になれた時は楽しかったです。100人以上の留学生と一緒に素晴らしいパフォーマンスを企画することができた記フェス部門であろうと、創大祭の貴重な思い出をとらえ、ストーリーアルバムを作ることができた記録部門に参加したことであろうと。留喫と同じくらい重要なことですが、私はまた、所属していたFILAや留学生を代表する自治会の一員になることを楽しんでいました。最後に、私はマリアのリーダーシップセミナーに参加し、一緒に学び、前進することを誇りに思います。正直なところ、創価大学でやっていることはすべてとても貴重で、たくさんのことを学ぶことができました。

　There isn't just one best memory I have at Soka University. So many precious memories I have made, whether it is in my studies or non-academic activities. I particularly enjoyed when I was able to become Ryukitsu staff for Sōdaisai for two consecutive years. Whether it is part of KIFES in which we were able to make a splendid performance together with more than 100 international students or participating in the photography department where we were able to capture valuable memories of Sōdaisai and even made a story album. As important as Ryukitsu, I also enjoyed being part of the student union representing my faculty, FILA, as well as international students. Lastly, I am proud to be part of Maria’s leadership seminar, learning and advancing together. To be honest, everything that I do at Soka university is so valuable, and I could learn so much.

　Please enjoy every moment you have at Soka University, whatever that is! Whether it is a wonderful precious friendship you are building or any challenges you are facing here. Courageously have a wonderful university life that you will never regret and will always remember. Soka University is a safe place for us to explore our interests, our values and even to fail. Please know that each and every one of you is so amazing and precious!
